When was DayBalancer founded? DayBalancer started in 2016 when founder Jessie Upp began working with essential workers to help prioritize self-care, leading to a healthy work-life balance. It was officially incorporated as an LLC in 2024 and became a certified woman-owned business. The SaaS platform was launched in 2025, from a desire to help balance distribution and regeneration of resources, including our energy, time, and nature.

What are your offerings? Our SaaS platform automates referral matching, tracking professional outcomes that help balance local community health and wealth, including connections made, jobs filled, business partnerships formed, mentorship relationships established, and local economic circulation increased. Communities use these metrics to justify member time and stakeholder investment. View our offerings and pricing >

What does "ikigai" mean? Ikigai is a Japanese concept that means finding purpose at the intersection of what you love, what you're good at, what the world needs, and what you can be paid for. We help professionals discover their ikigai while building local economic resilience through a circular talent network where community success creates individual opportunity.

Are you a cooperative? We're currently an LLC working towards a cooperative ownership model. This means we're building with cooperative values (democratic participation, shared benefit, community focus) while establishing the revenue stability needed to formalize worker-ownership.

What makes DayBalancer "capacity-building"? Our platform is values-driven (prioritizes cooperation over competition), evidence-driven (uses data to prove community impact), clean AI-driven (bias-reducing algorithms), and results-driven (measures tangible outcomes like jobs filled and partnerships formed).

Our Approach

What is your vision? To help build self-reliant communities where people find meaningful work, balancing personal fulfillment with collective impact. More on our vision >

What does "values-driven hiring" mean? Instead of algorithm-driven job boards that prioritize employer needs, we match based on professional compatibility - ensuring both workplace needs and individual wellbeing align for sustainable, fulfilling employment. Our work is inspired by ESG goals, Global Goals, and Doughnut Economy.
