Where independents do meaningful work.
DayBalancer is a living network where independents - creatives, service providers, skilled tradespeople, and licensed providers - give and receive with people who know them. Most independents navigate without the built-in community that traditional employment provides. When you work for yourself, there's no built-in peer group, no shared infrastructure, no one noticing when you're depleted. DayBalancer exists because people do better when they support who and what sustains them.
What happens here: People build a page showing who they are and what they do. Compatible people and opportunities find them. They give and receive daily - skills, time, resources, referrals, care. Some contributions are pro bono, some paid - all negotiated between people. Over time, what they contribute circulates back. This is a daily practice of giving and receiving within a circle of people who believe in you.
Start with yourself: Before showing up for others, people here tend to themselves first. DayBalancer helps members track what they need each day - rest, nourishment, focus - so they can give from a full place rather than an empty one.
Finding your fit: Meaningful work starts with knowing what you're good at, what you love, and where you get energy - and finding people who thrive doing the parts that drain you. That's what we call ikigai, and it's where every member starts.
How to join: DayBalancer grows through people who know each other. Members join through someone who believes in them, or bring someone they want to show up for. Community leaders who want to build a local network join as supporting member-owners and organize from there.
Meaningful work: Meaningful work is different for everyone. For some it is social impact. For others it is personal mastery, building something, serving a community, or doing work they love. DayBalancer works for anyone who wants their days to feel purposeful.
Apart, together: Independence does not mean going it alone. 670+ people are already here - giving, receiving, and building livelihoods on their own terms.
Member-owned: We are building toward a worker-owned cooperative structure where value circulates back to members. Community leaders who build on DayBalancer become founding member-owners. This pathway is open now.
Led by: Jessie Upp and a cooperative team of advisors committed to making mutual support easy to build at scale.
